Career highlights

John McRae oversees domestic investment activities for the Global Growth Trust (GGT) and Global Investment Trust (GIT) and is primarily responsible for sourcing, negotiating and underwriting investment opportunities for the GGT and GIT. John has 18 years of diversified real estate experience that encompasses all functions of commercial real estate including development, leasing, financing and management.

Prior to joining CNL, he was a senior vice president at Trammell Crow Company where he was employed for more than 13 years. He has been involved in real estate transactions exceeding 10 million square feet and totaling more than $1 billion during the past four years.

Transaction Experience

• Westbrook Partners - His notable transactions include the sale of five suburban office buildings valued at more than $105M in Central Florida on behalf of Westbrook Partners. The five-building disposition was awarded in three separate assignments and totaled more than 690,000 SF, including the 256,000 SF Maitland Summit Park in Orlando, Florida.
• Hughes Supply - John represented Hughes Supply in two national sale/leaseback transactions. The two assignments included the sale of 66 properties totaling more than 1.3M SF located throughout the United States. He represented TIAA in multiple assignments valued at more than $95M including the sale of Corporate Plaza, a 230,000 SF suburban office property in Jacksonville, Florida.
• TIAA-CREF - Represented TIAA in multiple assignments valued at more than $95M including the sale of Corporate Plaza, a 230,000 SF suburban office property in Jacksonville, Florida.
• Darden Restaurants - Represented Darden Restaurants in the sale/leaseback of their 10 building 422,000 SF corporate headquarters campus in Orlando, Florida.
• Lockheed Martin - Represented Lockheed Martin in multiple land transactions involving the acquisition of 4,700 acres in Central Florida.
