Career highlights
Thom Cunningham is responsible for identifying and executing new development opportunities
at CNL Commercial Real Estate (CCRE). He guides the day-to-day development activities and manages relationships
with consultants and partners.
Prior to joining CNL, Thom served as a project manager for FMC Technologies, a leading global provider of technology
solutions for the energy industry. Subsequently, Thom transitioned careers
into real estate development when he joined CNL Real Estate & Development (CRED). Thom quickly rose through the
ranks at CRED, where his responsibilities included site selection, evaluation, project management from due diligence
through construction, and underwriting of the company’s diversified development pipeline.
When CCRE was formed, Thom became an ideal candidate for assisting in the launch of its development platform.
Since coming aboard, Thom has proven to be an invaluable asset in sourcing and evaluating future development
opportunities for the company.
Transaction Experience
- Major Healthcare System - Analyzed the healthcare’s system entire real estate
portfolio and provided strategic advisory services related to the hospital’s long-term expansion plan.
- CNL Center II - Supported project manager during the construction of CNL
Center II, a 274,946 SF Class A Office building located in the heart of downtown Orlando with an estimated value
of $85 million.
- CNL Centers I & II at City Commons - Served as the underwriter for the
refinance of CNL’s $198 million Class A office investment portfolio.
- CRED Investment Portfolio - Assisted in the asset management of a $300
million portfolio of real estate assets, including office, commercial and residential development projects.
- Tampa Triangle Development DRI - Facilitated the sale and liquidation of a
mixed-use development project valued at $26 million.
