Consolidated Appropriations Act

The Consolidated Appropriations Act (CAA) was signed into law on December 27, 2020 and is focused on providing health plan transparency to consumers. One component of the CAA is the No Surprises Act, which is intended to protect health plan participants from unexpected medical bills and raise patient awareness of costs and medical provider network status (i.e. in- or out-of-network).

To satisfy the requirements of the No Surprises Act, we are required to provide detailed pricing information which can be found here https://www.cigna.com/legal/compliance/machine-readable-files. This link leads to the machine-readable files that are made available in response to the federal Transparency in Coverage Rule and includes negotiated service rates and out-of-network allowed amounts between health plans and healthcare providers. The machine-readable files are formatted to allow researchers, regulators, and application developers to more easily access and analyze data.
